A friend of mine who's making his way in the world's toughest occupation - he's a poet - has been an incisive chronicler of Aussie culture for many years and recently turned his considerable talents to one of my favourite subjects: chicks.
'Australian Girls Are The Coolest Girls' started life as one of Adam Gibson's poems but he's now put it to music with his band The Aerial Maps creating a spoken word sound that's a little bit The Streets with more than a dash of The Hummingbirds and Go Betweens.
It's a celebration of, well, cool, Australian girls and it's gotten me thinking about just why our local lasses are so damn special...
