Some tips on shopping in Singapore?
« on: November 24, 2011, 07:36:15 PM »
A superior range of goods available at comparative prices proves Singapore as a ‘Shoppers’ paradise’. Orchard Road is a popular address for shopping in Singapore. However, a number of shopping complexes like marina Square are available all around the island. Most of the reputed outlets work on Western style fixed-price, though, bargaining can be seen in local markets and street-side stalls.

Shopping hours: 10:00 am to 09:00 pm (Monday to Friday), but some markets like The Mustafa Centre in Little India remain active 24-hours.

If you are in Singapore and want to shop around then there are several good place to buy good things in your budget. Takashimaya is first and foremost from them it is best shopping centre of Singapore which has all the luxury brands as well as more affordable goods. There are also bookstores, a library and cafes all around. Another one is Sim Lim Square; it is a very popular electronics and computer haven. If you want to buy exotic textile then little India is a nice place to shop in Singapore. You will be amazed at the variety of Indian wares available for purchase there. Also if you’re looking for more oriental goods, Chinatown is the perfect place to go.

My advice is to go ask some locals around for the places that offer prices the same with the local market. Sometimes, some shops intended for tourists usually have higher prices.
