Visit to Melbourne
« on: June 20, 2011, 04:34:43 PM »
Melbourne is one of the lively and rapidly growing Australian crowns. By visiting the glorious places you will certainly dreamed into Melbourne’s best today, tomorrow and the future. You will determine comedy, dance, exhibitions, fashion, fairs, festivals, fundraisers, markets, garage sales, live music, swap meets, sales, sport, theatre and so on… all the way.

Melbourne is home to Australia's sporting proceedings, fashion and cultural capital and draws visitors from all over the world to enjoy its panorama and vibrant atmosphere. You can consider Melbourne as Australia’s most advantageous holiday destination, especially for shopping, theatre and fine dining.

In general, people are recommending some of the places that help you get the most from your visit to the city knick named the “Paris of the South”.

Go to the Tourist Centre in Flinders St in Federation Square and enquire about current events and free public transport. Have a look around Federation Square (Melbourne's city square) while you're there.

Walk along the Yarra River from Federation Square, past Rod Laver Tennis Centre to either Melbourne Cricket Ground or Melbourne's newest stadium, AAMI Stdaium. Enjoy the views of the city and the ambiance in Birrarung Marr, Melbourne's newest park.

Alternatively you can visit the two major art galleries in Federation Square (The Ian Potter Centre) and St Kilda Road (NGV International | National Gallery of Victoria).

If you are hungry then visit Lygon St Carlton for a genuine Italian meal. Another fine dining experience is in the Chinatown district in Little Bourke Street in CBD. The world’s largest food and wine festival takes place in Melbourne in March every year.

Then head to Queen Victoria Market for a cheap meal, to pick up a souvenir and enjoy the atmosphere.

Melborne is the second most populous city in Australia after Sydney and is renowned for its shopping opportunities in enough malls to keep you busy for weeks. Melborne is also of great historical interest and the beautiful city centre is a sight to behold. Surrounding Port Phillip, the centre is positioned at the most Northern point and the city engulfs the bay. Staying in the centre of Melborne will not only provide you with access to excitement, but also with unbelievable views.

I live in Melbourne and I guess I'm proud that some people find the place very livable and have that attraction for tourists. Although I prefer having my vacation out of the country than stay in my hometown.

Of course, when you have a vacation you need to get out of your city and travel to somewhere you don't know. Can't be bad living in a city that's voted the best place to live on the planet though! Which part of Melbourne would you suggest to a tourist to stay in if they've never been there before and want to be in the thick of it but don't want to be around too many other tourists?
