Going to Spain in June
« on: April 02, 2011, 08:53:35 AM »
Hey everyone!
My wife and I are setting off to Spain for a week in June. We are wanting to stay in Madrid for about 4 days and then want to go see another town. Can anyone recommend where to go? We would like to go somewhere away from the tourists ( to see more of the countryside) keep in mind, we don't want to spend to much time travelling, I think 2 hours would be the maximum and we would only be spending around 3 or 4 days at the new destination. Thanx in advance for the advice

A good daytrip from Madrid would be Segovia, it's only an hour away by bus (less if you take the high speed train) and it's a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Spain is a part of European Union and is located over at the Iberian Peninsula. Spain is a country rich with history and natures gifts. Many people have considered this place as a prime vacation destination, along with other European countries like Italy and France. Come here during the summer season and you will definitely enjoy the country better.

Excellent and quiet beaches can be found near Malaga, Huelva and Almería in the south as well as near the coasts of La Manga, Galicia, Asturias, Cantabria and Euskadi.

Spain usually have a lot of low price villas located at country side areas. Villas are best type of accommodation for those travelers that opt to enjoy their travel vacation in one place or resort. maybe you should research about this one.

As you all have already enjoyed a lot in June... So want a trip again.... Reason is very clear.

August can be clearly hot in Spain, mainly in Madrid and Seville, so most people head to the beaches. Beach culture is gorgeous in Spain.

While Spain doesn't get as much rainfall as other European countries, some rain is a possibility at any time of year in August.

The Best places to visit in Spain can be recommended:
Northern Spain (Cantabria & Asturias), but don't forget to make your way to Valencia for the Tomatina Tomato Fight on the fourth Wednesday (24th) of the month.

So keep enjoying the Beach culture and Tomato festival in August.

Madrid’s central location makes an ideal base for excursions outside the city. You can even reach more distant cities of Seville, Toledo, Cordoba and Zaragoza, but it’s better that you book a hotel in advance to spend the night, as you probably want to spend more time and see what they offer. Closer to Madrid and then to rest from the bustle of the city, there is Montejo - a charming beech forest in the bed of the river Jarama, where you can enjoy long walks for getting peace of mind. Also Not far from the capital you can find Pedriza. This region of interesting geological features and beautiful countryside located on the southern slope of the Sierra de Guadarrama. But mostly to visit is the city of Salamanca, because it is one of the oldest cities and most impressive in Spanish.
