I am hoping to go on a Russian river cruise between Moscow and St. Petersburg and all the companies I have looked at seem to suggest onboard accommodation as the best (and sometimes the only) option in the ports at Moscow and St. Petersburg. Usually I prefer to stay at a hotel on my arrival and departure point and only live on the ship during the cruise? Is it that in Russia it is more convenient to stay onboard?
