I will say Actually most companies that take you out for the above described trips, that involved such activities, offer what you are looking for.
They have a way of combining the outdoors (extreme at times) activities/adventures with local cultural and history education.
what I have found out through most of my trips is that if you go with a company that does not include "alternative tourism" options you're trip does not end up after all that much adventurous. That is of course based on an economical trip.
Also, If you are willing to pay a budget with no limits and book adventure vacation trips such as Safari's, all of those include historical and cultural learning but most importantly, adventure!
