What's the best laptop for travel
« on: April 16, 2011, 07:56:17 PM »
My old Dell is on its last legs and it's time to buy a new notebook. I need something that'll be good for business travel, since I take at least two or three trips a month. It has to be light (under four pounds), have built-in WiFi, and cost somewhere in the neighborhood of two grand (the less the better!). A built-in DVD drive would be nice, but is optional.

I guess netbook from sony or toshiba is a little bit expensive and easy to be stolen.
i searched on google for a CHEAP MINI NETBOOK then i found one.it is a d425 intel atom netbook

10.2inch.only trouble is the memory has only 1gb.

here i add the link:

well I think Eee is much better because it  is almost an inch smaller than Acer, sounds like not much but makes quite a difference. Price wise Acer is actually 60$ cheaper, but 8gig SSD drive and 512MB Ram vs 12Gig SSD and 1gig Ram in eee..

I see 8-cell battery available for about 8hrs of use, sounds good...

When traveling, it's usually common to have your stuff get wet or easily dropped and soiled. So A shockproof and waterproof laptop is more preferable when traveling including a safe to carry bags for other plug it gadgets.

Vaio is pretty expensive. I recommend Asus or Toshiba, because they are very solid.
