Maxwell's Music House: Live Music Hotspot Maxwell's Music House is located directly across the street from Wilfrid Laurier University on King Street, just south of University Avenue. Maxwell's hosts live music concerts every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. If you are looking to see great indie artists, Maxwell's is the place for you! Cover charge ranges from $5-$10, and drinks are reasonably priced ($4.25-$5.25). Clean upscale atmosphere with great staff.

Phil's: Great music! Phil's is a nightclub located right across the street from my university, so it is mostly packed with students and/or young people. I have only been here once, its pretty big (but more long and narrow than wide and open.. there are about four different small rooms to pass through before you've been through the whole club.) The first room is the bar, and the dance floor, the back room is a pool table room. All the ones in between are just people standing around, hanging out, etc. It is a non-smoking bar but there WILL be people drinking. I liked this place, they played really good music (mostly rock). The only thing you may find is that it gets VERY crowded, you almost feel like sardines are better off!Its not too hard to just move to a different spot if you feel clastrophobic though. Just be prepared to have to push people. Drinks for the most part are $1.75 (usually rum in coke.) It got hot in there from the body heat, so I'd wear the lightest clothing possible if you're going to be there on a weekend when its packed! During the week its not so bad though.

Starlight Social Club: Starlight Trendy and warm atmosphere. Small club located above street front sotres. Holds about 300 people. Friendly staff, great mixed drinks, great atmosphere. Have different nights, Mod, 80's, Hip Hop, ect. Also get bands in to play. Anything goes.

Waterloo is a small city, but it is famous for its attraction. It has lots of bars, lounges and cafes shops all over the city. Many clubs can be found with a younger crowd. You can go to Phil's to enjoy the best night life.
