The Venetian Resort and Casino has managed to take us back to the 16th Century with its architecture and art. The grounds of this resort are modeled after Venice, Italy with the canals, gondolas, and gondeliers. Although I did not stay at the Venetian, but instead had visited Venice, I was quite aware of how authentic the frescos, the strolling performers, and the architecture were.
For instance, my Photo #5 shows the ceiling, a replica of the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. This exquisite fresco covers the arched ceiling leading from registration to the casino.
There is a terrific shopping area called Grand Canal Shoppes which has a canal winding through it with gondolas, many five-star restaurants, and a version of Madame Tussauds wax museum.
The hotel boasts the Canyon Ranch SpaClub [the largest in Vegas]. Recently, at the Venezia Tower, they have luxury rooms that are 700-square feet with 9.5 foot ceilings and huge bathrooms.
At this resort, there are pools that resemble the fountains of Italian palazzos.
